Les systèmes montagneux se sont formés il y a des centaines de millions d'années, après la formation de la croûte terrestre, lorsque la croûte terrestre sous les systèmes montagneux était beaucoup plus molle et plus mince.
Plus les systèmes montagneux s'élevaient, plus ils s'affaissaient, se déplaçaient, se courbaient, les défaillances des systèmes montagneux, résultat d'une croissance inégale et de l'affaissement des systèmes montagneux.
Trois types de montagnes se forment sur terre:
a) Montagnes plissées horizontales, formées par de nombreuses éruptions de lave à la surface de la Terre.
b) Les montagnes plissées verticales se forment après des événements sismiques lorsque des failles verticales sont remplies de magma.
c) Les montagnes en blocs se forment lorsque les montagnes plissées s'effondrent et se développent en raison d'explosions dans des failles verticales et horizontales.
En raison des failles, la densité diminue et, par conséquent, la flottabilité de la croûte terrestre augmente.
a) La hauteur du continent au-dessus du niveau du magma dépend de la densité de la croûte continentale.
b) Plus il y a de failles et de vides dans les systèmes montagneux, plus les systèmes montagneux sont élevés.
Les gaz se déplacent le long des failles qui s'étendent des systèmes montagneux aux mers et aux océans, à cause desquels des tremblements de terre se forment et, par conséquent, les systèmes montagneux attaquent l'océan. Les tremblements de terre et les volcans sont des phénomènes naturels dont le rôle est le renforcement des fissures de la croûte terrestre. Et les systèmes montagneux sont des plaques sur les fissures des planètes.
Chaque année, plus d'un million de tremblements de terre sont enregistrés sur les continents, grâce auxquels la force et la flottabilité de la croûte terrestre augmentent.
