| Hello,,
One can find reference to "minor" navies in books about maritime and naval history but often the role of these small navies was all but minor ! It was the Swedish Navy that made sure the British naval representative in Stockholm was informed of the passage of the Bismark and Prinz Eugen from the Baltic into the North Sea. It was the officers and men of the Norwegian Navy who risked their lives to run the Shetland Bus.
I have just uploaded a topic on the Danish, Swedish and Norwegian Navies to the website www.navtechlife.com
There are other "lesser knowns" to come so keep tuned in!
Take it steady,
John

| DahliaBleue, you seem to have missed the point.
The text has been amended as a consequence.
I like the note of humour from NIALA re. "marine secondaire"
