Hello,
We have just uploaded five photographs taken at the Cammell Laird shipyard during the construction of the turbines and reduction gears. Incredible detail, men dressing the teeth of the main gear wheel with hand-files, the fixed and rotating blades of the turbines....Who can spot the chalked hammer and sickle in one of the photographs ? Surprising this got passed by the censor.
See www.navtechlife.com heading "The Ships" and sub-heading "Naval Construction and Propulsion"
Take it steady,
John
