Hello,
We have been working hard to set-up a new chapter entitled "Mine Warfare: Mines, Minelayers, Minesweepers". We have recently uploaded photographs for "Part 1, Mines" and today, "Part 2: Minelayers". There doesn't seem to be much about mine warfare on Internet, probably because it is not a very glamorous activity although dangerous. No big guns firing at one another but the presence and maintenance of minefields affected enemy operations. One can consider the huge North Sea Mine Barrage (70,177 mines) that was laid during WW1 in an attempt to severely limit movements in and out of the North Sea. As mine technology advanced, notably during WW2, so minesweeping methods had to keep up.
